Joy Rosen is the CEO and Co-Founder of Portfolio Entertainment. She is at the forefront of the company’s distribution arm, building it into a global player recognized for creative excellence, intelligent deal-making and collaborative joint ventures. A consummate relationship builder, Joy has grown and shaped the company’s diverse catalogue, ranging from food and lifestyle to kids and digital content. Under her leadership, Portfolio’s long-standing presence at international television and content markets has resulted in enduring relationships with both global broadcasters and content providers. Joy spearheaded the company’s recent growth and diversification strategy, and now oversees Portfolio’s new lifestyle and factual content production arm. Along with business partner and fellow CEO, Lisa Olfman, she also launched Portfolio Animation in 2015, an in-house animation studio in Toronto’s creative King West district. The company has produced an iconic roster of productions, including the Teletoon-commissioned Freaktown, The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! (PBS Kids and Treehouse), and DOKI (Discovery Kids Latin America). Together, Joy and Lisa have been recognized as Rotman’s Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, and named in Profit Magazine's Top 100 Female Business Owners and Animation Magazine’s Top 25 Rising Women. In 2015, they also won the WIFT-Toronto Crystal Award for Outstanding Achievement in Business. Joy holds a Masters of Science degree in Telecommunications/Film from the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University and a BA in English from the University of Toronto.
